Chocolate baked donuts

These chocolate baked donuts are a chocoholics dream! Topped with a simple chocolate ganache, these donuts are soft, fluffy and absolutely delicious.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or melted coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or liquid sweetener of choice
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips

Topping

  • 1/2 cup dark choc chips
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180°c (fan forced)
  • In a bowl combine the flour, cacao powder, baking powder and baking soda. Mix in the egg, maple syrup, olive oil and almond milk. Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
  • Bake at 180°c for 15 minutes or until cooked, then let cool.
  • To make the ganache, add the chocolate chips, butter and water to a saucepan and heat to medium, stirring continuously. Once the mixture is melted and combined, removed from the heat and stir until completely smooth. Coat the donuts in the ganache.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

Store in an airtight container, they last about 3 days.
