Hot Cross Bun French Toast is the best way to take your hot cross buns to the next level! This is such an easy and delicious breakfast to make this Easter.
Ingredient list:
- Egg
- Cinnamon
- Maple syrup or liquid sweetener of choice
- Almond milk or milk of choice
- Hot cross buns
How to make Hot Cross Bun French Toast:
In a bowl combine egg, cinnamon, maple syrup and almond milk. Slice hot cross buns in half and use your hands to flatten out a little. Coat each slice in the mixture.
Add hot cross bun slices to a pan on medium heat and cook until golden (about 3 minutes per side)
Add to a plate, serve with your favourite toppings and enjoy!
For toppings I used greek yoghurt, berries, maple syrup and some dark chocolate 🙂
