How cute are these Birthday Cake donuts?! They are so easy to make and dare I say one of my favourite recipes I’ve ever made!
Fluffy baked donuts, with a delicious icing topped with sprinkles…the perfect snack or dessert if you ask me!
These are such a fun recipe, you need to make them and try them out for yourself!
Ingredients need to make birthday cake donuts
- Self raising flour
- Vanilla protein powder
- Vanilla extract
- Egg
- Almond milk
- Maple syrup
- Smooth ricotta
- Greek yoghurt
- Sprinkles
Method:
Preheat your oven to 180°c (fan forced)
In a bowl combine flour and protein powder. Add in egg, milk, vanilla extract, maple syrup and mix until combined.
Transfer the mixture into a silicone donut mould. Bake at 180°c for 15 minutes.
While the donuts are cooking make the icing by combining the Greek yoghurt, ricotta and maple syrup. Leave in the fridge while the donuts cook and cool.
Let donuts cool completely then add icing on top as well as the sprinkles
Enjoy – store in the fridge for 4-5 days
Ingredients swaps:
- instead of PROTEIN POWDER: you can substitute with almond meal or almond flour
- instead of MAPLE SYRUP: you can use any liquid sweetener of your choice
- instead of ALMOND MILK: you can use any milk of your choice
