Calling all choc peanut butter lovers!!! These peanut butter and banana brownies are the perfect easy and DELICIOUS snack or dessert. They are also great if you have some overripe bananas sitting in your fruit bowl and don’t know what to do with them!
I don’t know about anyone else but I always seem to have overripe bananas sitting in my fruit bowl at the end of the week! Usually my go-to recipe is banana bread but sometimes I feel like spicing it up and making something chocolatey!
You cannot go wrong with these banana and peanut butter brownies. They’re so easy to make and only require a few simple ingredients you probably already have at home!
Ingredients needed
- bananas
- egg
- maple syrup
- vanilla extract
- natural peanut butter
- oat flour
- cacao powder
- baking powder
- dark chocolate chips or chocolate of choice
How to make peanut butter and banana brownies
- Preheat your over to 180°c (fan forced). Line an 8×8 baking pan.
- Add you bananas into a bowl and mash together with a fork. Once mashed, add in the egg, maple syrup, vanilla extract, peanut butter and mix until combined.
- Add in the oat flour, baking powder and sift in the cacao powder and combine. Fold through and the dark chocolate chips.
- Add the mixture into your baking pan and bake for 18-20 minutes or until cooked
- Let the brownies cool then slice up into 9 pieces and enjoy!
- Store them in the fridge, they last up to 4-5 days – Before eating I like to warm mine up in the microwave for a few seconds so they’re soft and gooey!
Recipe substitutions
- To make them DAIRY FREE: substitute the dark choc chips for a dairy free alternative
- Instead of MAPLE SYRUP feel free to use any liquid sweetener i.e honey, agave syrup etc
- Instead of PEANUT BUTTER you can substitute for any other nut butter

Ingredients
- 2 bananas

- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
- 1 cup oat flour To make oat flour just blend your oats until they form a flour
- 1/3 cup cacao powder sifted
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips or chocolate of choice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°c and line an 8 x 8 square pan
- In a bowl mash up your bananas. Add in the egg, maple syrup, peanut butter, vanilla extract and mix.
- Mix in the oat flour, baking powder and sift in the cacao powder. Fold through the dark chocolate chips.
- Add the batter into your lined baking dish and bake for 18-20 minutes or until cooked.
- Let cool, slice up into 9 pieces and enjoy
